Hazardous materials workers identify, removes, packages, transport and disposes of hazardous materials such as asbestos, mould, lead, mercury, and other biological hazards.

Entrance Requirements

Grade 12 Diploma

Apprenticeship Program

As a Hazardous Material Worker apprentice, you will learn as you earn by attending one 4-week in-school session in between a period of paid work experience. Keeping a logbook ensures you meet all the job skills required to work safely and productively.

Responsibilities

Apprentices of the program are expected to be familiar with applicable legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Environmental Protection Act and their regulations.

Journeyperson Wage Rate:

$32.73/hr
