A Cement (Concrete) Finisher masters the art of applying various finishes to concrete surfaces. Cement Finishers work on a wide variety of vertical and horizontal surfaces and structures such as concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, stairs, driveways, curbs, gutters, dams, bridges and tunnels.

Construction experience is an asset
A Cement (Concrete) Finisher apprenticeship allows you to learn new skills and earn a living at the same time. Most apprentices will complete the required 5,000 hours of technical training and on-the-job training over a 2-3 year period. This apprenticeship has two in-class levels which are each eight weeks in length and is a Red Seal Trade.
Direct placement of concrete, check formwork and steel reinforcement materials
Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills & other fixtures
Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications
Apply components to cure, waterproof and restore surfaces
Use equipment and hand & power tools to create finishes on concrete surfaces
Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
