Cement (Concrete) Finisher

A Cement (Concrete) Finisher installs concrete structures including interior floors and exterior pavements using a variety of methods of construction to produce a variety of finishes, colours and textures in all types of residential, institutional, commercial and industrial buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Direct placement of concrete, check formwork and steel reinforcement materials

  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills & other fixtures

  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications

  • Apply components to cure, waterproof and restore surfaces

  • Use equipment and hand & power tools to create finishes on concrete surfaces

  • Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures

Apprenticeship Program

4500 hours of on-the-job training, supplemented by two 8-week sessions of in-class technical training.

  • Grade 12 Diploma preferred (Grade 10 minimum)

Journeyperson Wage Rate

$42.69/Hr (2022)
