Architectural Glass and Metal Technicians (also known as Glaziers) cut, fit, install and replace glass in residential, commercial and industrial buildings, on exterior walls of buildings and other structures. Because glass is everywhere, there is always a need for glaziers.

Entrance Requirements
Grade 12 Diploma preferred (Grade 10 minimum)
Math and English
Apprenticeship Program
Approximately 5-6 years, 8000 hours (minimum) on-the-job training each year, and exam. Red seal trade certificate awarded after. As an apprentice, you can earn while you learn!
Responsibilities
Read and interpret drawings & specifications
Measure, cut, fit, install and/or secure glass panes, window parts & architectural metals
Assemble pre-fabricated glass unit parts such as revolving doors, sky lights & curtain walls
Install and maintain glass products on walls, ceilings & handrails
Replace windows, windshields and glass in furniture & other products
Journeyperson Wage Rate:
$23.85 – $47.70
